GORDON, WI (KDAL) - The Douglas County Sheriff's Department has released the names of the two people involved in a shooting near Gordon early Tuesday morning. Domestic abuse suspect, 21 year old Andrew Closson, was shot by Patrol Lt. Chris Hoyt when Closson pointed a rifle at the deputy when he was confronted along Highway 53. Closson was taken to a Duluth hospital where he later died. While the incident is being investigated by the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, Lt. Hoyt, a 21 year veteran of the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, is on paid administrative leave.
