DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault (PAVSA) and the American Indian Community Housing Organization (AICHO) has established a collaboration of local agencies to form the Duluth Trafficking Task Force. They held a news conference on Wednesday in City Hall to draw attention to the growing problem of human trafficking and prostitution. Duluth Mayor Don Ness and the St. Louis County Board have recognized January as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Several awareness events are scheduled in the area this month for community members to learn more about this crime against girls and young women. Go to the website pavsa.org for more information and resources that are available to the victims.
