MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KDAL) - Minneapolis was the only American city to land on Travel and Leisure's "Hottest Travel Destinations of 2013." The list of 13 included locales in Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Italy, the Philippines, Nepal and Canada, among others. In its write-up, the magazine talked about Minneapolis' paying homage to its Scandinavian roots by opening restaurants that are based on a "foraging and farming" ethos. Melvin Tennant, president of Meet Minneapolis Visitor's Association, said the city was also ranked recently by Forbes Magazine as one of the safest in America.
