Duluth, MN (KDAL) - More ‘Water Contact Not Recommended’ signs have gone up for a handful of beaches around the Northland. The Minnesota Department of Health says elevated levels of E. coli bacteria has been detected at the Franklin Park-13th Street South Beach on Park Point. Meanwhile, advisories are posted for the Flood Bay Beach as well as the Temperance River State Park and Sugarloaf Cove Beaches—both of which are located between Silver Bay and Lutsen. All of the beaches will be re-sampled. Meanwhile, some good news—the advisory for the 20th Street-Hearding Island Canal Beach was lifted after bacteria levels fell into acceptable range.
