DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - An insect native to Asia found its way to the eastern U-S in 2001 and has now spread to Duluth.  The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug was discovered by a UMD student in a University insect collection which came from a Duluth house.  The bug is not yet common in the state but could eventually be a household nuisance and take a toll on a wide variety of agricultural crops.  The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug is notorious for invading buildings to stay warm during the winter months.  As you might expect from the name, the bug gives off a nasty odor especially when disturbed.
