UNDATED (KDAL) - Thanks to an alert pair of babysitters, Douglas County Sheriff's Department officers were made aware of a home invasion burglary in progress at a house in a rural area between Poplar and Lake Nebagamon on Saturday, March 23rd. The 15 and 14 year old babysitters heard someone kick in a door at the residence. They grabbed a phone and locked themselves in a bathroom and called 9-1-1. They kept calm and kept dispatchers updated as officers were en-route to the scene. When deputies arrived, they were able to follow footprints away from the house and then a snowmobile track to locate and arrest the burglars. Charged with burglary were 20 year old Alexander Rohling and 18 year old Austin Clement, both of Poplar. Clement also had an outstanding warrant for bail jumping.
