HERMANTOWN, MN (KDAL) - For many, McDonald's is comfort food. For a 23-year-old Duluth man early Friday morning, it comforted him enough to make him pass out in the drive-thru. According to a Hermantown Police press release, a St. Louis County Sheriff's deputy made first contact with the individual at the McDonald's at 4301 Menards Drive and identified himself as the "Sheriff's Office." The deputy noted the driver appeared to be out of it and asked the gentleman where he was coming from. The driver responded that HE was coming from the sheriff's office. Hermantown Police arrived and took over, ultimately arresting the man for gross misdemeanor 3rd degree DWI and taking him to St. Louis County Jail.
