Jordin Sparks has been dating her boyfriend, singer Jason Derulo , since early 2012, and the latest rumor suggests that he's planning to pop the question very soon. But Jordin herself says that she and her beau intend to wait a bit before heading to the altar.
"We're not at that point yet," Jordin told ABC News Radio recently. "We're just really enjoying each other and really just loving being together." That doesn't mean that Jordin's opposed to the idea, though. "When that happens it'll be the most amazing day of my life and I know that it will," she says confidently. "So, we're just taking our time...it's a big commitment so we really want to be ready."
But all of Jordin's very public displays of affection with Jason, and the romantic songs they've written about one another, inevitably lead people to ask them all the time if they're going to tie the knot. So, is she tired of answering that question? "It depends," she laughs. "Some days, I'm just kind of like, 'Oh my gosh I really don't want anybody ask me again!' and then another day, I'm just like, 'Yeah, well, y'know, we set ourselves up for it, so we gotta deal with it!' So it's OK."
If you'd like to see what Jordin's engagement might be like, all you have to do is watch the video for Jason's latest single, "Marry Me," in which she and Jason snuggle, laugh, kiss and flirt before he offers her a ring. Jordin says that's really what life is like for them, as sickeningly sweet as it may seem.
"Of course, I'm a little bit more made-up than I usually would be and some things like that, but that, that's usually how we are with each other," she says of the video. "Just really playful and really lovey dovey. My mom actually tells us, 'You're making me sick!' That's kind of how we are!'" (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)
Meanwhile, Jordin is treating her fans to some brand new music. Via SoundCloud, she's released a brand-new single called "11:11," which shows off a more mature sound for the former American Idol champ. You'll also be able to see Jordin co-hosting the American Music Awards pre-show, streaming live on November 24 starting at 5 p.m. ET at Yahoo.com, ABC.com and TheAMAs.com.
