CARLTON, MN (KDAL) - A 37 year old man is in custody after a couple of home invasions on Thursday. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department, the suspect broke into a home in the 6900 block of the Morris Thomas Road. The homeowner says the man grabbed him and demanded guns and ammunition. After a struggle, the suspect hit the homeowner in the head with a gun and left with a firearm. The victim was able to write down the license plate number of the suspect and St. Louis County Deputies and Hermantown Police recovered the firearm a short distance away. Two hours later, Carlton County Deputies responded to an attack on a homeowner in Mahtowa by the same man. The suspect was arrested and is now in the Carlton County Jail awaiting formal charges in both counties.
