Duluth Voters Shape General Election Ballot


Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Duluth voters have chosen whose names will appear on this fall’s general election ballot.  Of the five candidates vying for the four positions on the November 5th ballot for two at-large seats on the duluth city council, Barb Russ, Zack Filipovich, Ryan Stauber and Ray Sandman were the top vote-getters. Russ led the pack with nearly 36-percent of the vote. 

Meanwhile, voters whittled down the number of candidates competing for two at-large seats on the Duluth school board from six to four.  Those who advanced include Annie Harala, Harry Welty, Nancy Nilsen and Henry L. Banks.  Harala led the group with close to 26-percent of the vote. 

Staying with the Duluth school board, in district one Rosie Loeffler-Kemp and Joseph Matthes advance to the general election.  Loeffler-Kemp garnered just shy of 54-percent of the vote while Matthes collected over 26-percent.  And in district four, the field of three candidates were separated by just over 100 votes as David Bolgrien and Art Johnston moved on to this fal's ballot.  Bolgrien tallied nearly 38-percent of the vote.
