DULUTH, MN (KDAL) -- There was a bit of confusion at last night’S Duluth City Council Meeting resulting in a vacant seat on the council. Applicant Gary Eckenberg learned from City Attorney Gunnar Johnson at last night's meeting that the person appointed to fill Councilor Gary Krause's position would only serve until the next election in November, which is two meetings. Originally the Council and Eckenberg thought the term would extend though mid-January. The Council was appologetic to the two applicants, Eckenberg and Zach Radzac. President Boyle asked Attorney Johnson to provide clarity on this issue, according to the charter, so the Council can put the resolution back on the agenda after the election in November.
