Duluth, MN (KDAL) - This is no April Fools. 24 hours ago the Northland was waking up to a tranquil Monday morning where we even saw some sunshine. That’s not the case this morning. A Winter Storm Warning remains posted for Koochiching, Itasca, northern Cass and Saint Louis Counties until 1:00 this afternoon. Six to 12 inches of snow is a possibility through the day. Meanwhile a Winter Weather Advisory remains posted for the Twin Ports until 4:00. If it hasn’t already, freezing rain and will change to snow. We could see up to three inches of accumulation. Winds will remain brisk too—gusting to 35 miles per hour from the northwest. Roads this morning are slush covered and slick in spots around the Twin Ports. At last check MN-DOT listed Highways 2 and 53 as snow covered west and north of Duluth. I-35 is snow covered up to Cloquet where conditions improve. In northwest Wisconsin, highways 35, 53 and 2 were listed in good condition.
