DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - On Saturday, Duluth Police were called to the 10 block of West Michigan Street about the theft of a mo-ped from the back of a pickup truck. When the owner confronted the suspect he dropped the mo-ped and left, on foot, eastbound on Superior Street. Shortly after, police got a call concerning a man prowling vehicles in the Depot parking lot at 500 West Michigan Street. Witnesses saw the suspect try the locked doors of several vehicles before entering an unlocked vehicle. Police located the suspect, who also matched the description of the mo-ped thief, still inside the vehicle and arrested him. He has been identified as 27 year old Timothy Sandstrom of Duluth who was taken to the St. Louis County Jail for vehicle tampering, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and motor vehicle theft.
