Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Customers of Comfort Systems take note, heating your home may cost you more in the near future. The City of Duluth says due to the extremely cold winter, demand has increased for natural gas. That’s pushed wholesale prices up. Going forward the gas rate for residential customers will be $1.40 per 100 cubic feet. The new rate represents a 40-cent increase from February. It’s also 62-cents higher than it was in January. Commercial and industrial customers can expect an increase that’s proportional to the residential rate. The new rates will be reflected in your next statement. Where will you find the increase? Look for it in the P-G-A—or purchased gas adjustment—portion of their bill.
