Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Tap rooms and brew pubs are one step closer to being able to sell beer on Sundays in Minnesota. That’s after the commerce committee passed the omnibus liquor bill Wednesday. The legislation includes three of State Senator Roger Reinert’s incremental Sunday sales options, including tap room sales, growler sales and the growler freedom bill. The last would give brewers the freedom to refill any growler. Talking about the bill, the D-F-L’er says he’s confident that (quote) “…this omnibus liquor bill will pass the Senate, the pressure is now on the house to be progressive and meet the Senate on this issue.” (end quote) Meanwhile, the House’s omnibus liquor bill is up for consideration on the floor. However, it doesn’t include Reinert’s brewpub provisions or growler freedom bill.
