Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The 40th annual U-W-S Math Meet is in the history books. The 100-plus students from the 11 participating schools from as far away as Osceola, Ladysmith and Grantsburg flashed their math prowess. They were split into two categories, large schools and small schools, based on their enrollment. Taking the top spot in the large schools category was Ashland—with Osceola finishing as runner-up. Meanwhile, Northwestern of Maple topped the small school category with Grantsburg team one finishing as runner-up. U-W-S’s Tom Hansen says the schools sparred in geometry, calculus, algebra, trigonometry and statistics. The event is coordinated by the mathematics and computer science department at U-W-S.
