SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – A Superior project is among 25 federal grants being distributed through the Maritime Administration’s Port Infrastructure Development Program.
The 8.3 million dollar grant will aid the C. Reiss Company in rehabilitating their dock on the western end of the Superior Port.
The 17 million dollar project includes dock wall repair and replacement, dredging, rail, utility and road improvements and construction of an office, repair shop and storage space.
EPA and Wisconsin Transportation Department grants will also fund portions of the project.
The company has been working to relocate their operations from Duluth to Superior which is expected to double their productivity.
