DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Earlier this month about 12,000 homestead affidavit cards were mailed out in St. Louis County.
The project is mandated by the Department of Revenue to verify the homestead status for residents in the county.
The Assessor’s Department has been getting phone calls wondering if the cards are real and being cautious because of the social security number and other identifying information that is requested.
The St. Louis County Director of Public Records says the cards are legitimate and need to be filled out and returned to ensure you don’t lose homestead status.
