DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department has begun three large scale natural gas maintenance projects across several neighborhoods this summer.
The projects include conducting corrosion inspections and applying protective coatings to above ground gas residential meters in the East Hillside, Endion, Chester Park, UMD and Kenwood neighborhoods.
A routine natural gas leak survey will take place in the Congdon Park, Lester Park, Lakeside, Morley Heights, Hunters Park and Woodland neighborhoods.
No service interruptions are expected in those projects.
There is also a gas meter and regulator replacement project occurring citywide to update aging equipment.
Some residents in that project area could get a door notice indicating that gas was shut off at the meter if crews were unable to access gas appliances during the equipment replacement.
Those who get the notice will need to schedule an appointment to restore their gas service at no charge.
