DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The demolition of a pedestrian bridge over I-35 means a full closure of the freeway from 10 p-m Friday night through 5 a-m Monday morning.
Vehicle traffic will be detoured on I-535 to Garfield Avenue and then Railroad Street to 5th Avenue West during the weekend and motorists should expect delays.
Following the weekend closure, lane shifts will be needed and several overnight closures will also occur at times this summer.
The pedestrian bridge, located just south of Mesaba Avenue, will close to foot traffic at 7 a-m Friday and will remain closed until a replacement is complete in October.
