SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Details are now being released in the fatal crash in the Town of Superior on Tuesday morning.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, two people were killed as they stood behind a flatbed truck that was delivering a wooden storage shed to the property.
The truck was parked along County Highway A and the victims were struck by an SUV that then crashed into the truck.
The victims were identified as 62 year old Martha Lippai of Superior and 36 year old Devern Bender of Barron, Wisconsin.
The driver of the SUV, 34 year old Samantha Carlson from the Town of Summit, was extricated from her vehicle and taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries.
County Highway A was closed for several hours as the accident was investigated and the scene cleared.
