UNDATED (KDAL) – Minnesota and Wisconsin voters went to the polls on Tuesday to determine who would be on the ballot in the November general election.
In Minnesota, the governor’s race will match Democrat Amy Klobuchar against the GOP’s House Speaker Lisa Demuth who defeated businessman Mike Lindell in the primary.
In the Minnesota Senate primary, current Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan topped Representative Angie Craig on the Democratic side and will face Republican Michele Tafoya who defeated Adam Schwarze and Royce White on Tuesday.
Trina Swanson beat two other DFL candidates and will challenge current Republican 8th District Congressman Pete Stauber in November.
In Wisconsin, a tight race between two Democratic candidates for governor was won by Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley who narrowly defeated State Representative Francesca Hong and will face Republican Tom Tiffany in the general election.
Michael Alfonso topped four other candidates to win the Republican primary in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, advancing to the November general election against Fred Clark who won the Democratic primary for the seat.
