RICE LAKE, MN (KDAL) – Five people were sent to hospitals with non life threatening injuries following a pair of crashes in the City of Rice Lake on Wednesday.
The first of the incidents occurred around 10:15 a-m at the intersection of the Rice Lake Road and Martin Road. Three vehicles were involved in that crash as one of the drivers failed to yield the right of way at the intersection. Four people were injured in the incident which is under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
The other crash was reported at 1:30 p-m at the intersection of the Jean Duluth and West Tischer Roads. It involved two vehicles and one person was injured. That crash also occurred when one of the drivers failed to yield the right of way to the other at the stop sign controlled intersection.
The Sheriff’s Department reminds motorists to remain alert, stay aware of their surroundings and keep their focus on the road.
