Oct 12 (Field Level Media) – Minnesota Lynx head coach and president of basketball operations Cheryl Reeve won her third WNBA Executive of the Year award on Monday, as determined by a voting panel composed of an executive from each of the league’s 15 teams.
Reeve, who also won her record fifth WNBA Coach of the Year honor this season, previously was the league’s Executive of the Year in 2019 and 2024. She’s the first person to win both awards in the same season twice, previously doing so in 2024. Dallas Wings general manager Curt Miller is the only other person to win both in the same season, in 2017 with the Connecticut Sun.
Reeve appeared on 13 of the 14 ballots (she was not able to vote for herself), with Atlanta Dream executive vice president/general manager Dan Padover — who has also won the award three times — finishing second in voting (appeared on 11 ballots) and Golden State Valkyries general manager Ohemaa Nyanin coming in third (appeared on eight ballots).
The Lynx (33-11) finished atop the regular-season standings but made a first- round playoff exit after they were swept by the New York Liberty. The Dream and Valkyries will meet in the WNBA Finals starting Saturday in San Francisco.
Along with Reeve winning Coach of the Year, Minnesota point guard Olivia Miles was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year on Sept. 28.
