Oct 15 (Field Level Media) – Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Otega Oweh will miss the 2026-27 season with a ruptured right Achilles tendon.
The 23-year-old guard underwent surgery on Wednesday in New York, the team announced later that day.
Oweh, a second-round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, was injured in Tuesday’s preseason win over the Indiana Pacers.
The 6-foot-4 Oweh played two seasons at Oklahoma (2022-24) and two seasons at Kentucky (2024-26).
He averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals in 36 starts for the Wildcats last season, earning a spot on the All-SEC second team for the second straight season.
